How to Meditate???

Everywhere we can read more and more about the benefits of meditation but often there is a confusion what meditation really is. Is it just to concentrate on one spot? Or follow your thoughts? Breathing exercises? Listen to relaxing music? Slow movements?

In Sahaja Yoga Meditation we want to be in the present moment. This is the ideal state where we are in balance and what nowadays often is described as the “flow state”. It is a state where there is complete inner silence without the chit-chat of our thoughts that are rumbling always about the past or the future. Which means that when you are in the state of inner silence you are in the present moment.

In Sahaja Yoga Meditation this can be achieved without any effort through the awakening of an Inner Energy which allows you to open up to the Divine vibrations all around us.

“So you don’t have to put in any effort. This is what meditation is. Meditation means exposing yourself to God’s grace. Now the grace itself knows how to cure you. It knows how to mend you, how to settle down itself into your own being, keep your Spirit kindled. It knows everything. So you don’t have to worry as to what you have to do or what name you have to take, what mantras you have to do. In meditation you have to be absolutely effortless, expose yourself fully and you have to be absolutely thoughtless at that time.

Supposing there is a possibility you may not be thoughtless. At that time you have to just watch your thoughts but do not get involved into them. You will find gradually as the sun rises the darkness goes away and the sun’s rays go into every crevice and every part and makes the whole place lighted.”
