Cultivating Attention in Meditation

Tips for meditation growth:
Sahaja Yoga practitioner’s advice

“We aren’t philosophers, neither masters of our art but just share a bit of advice which has worked out well for us.

One such thing I have learnt is that it’s very hard to be attentive, so many things craving attention these days. So if your attention is always wavering, it’s hard to grow in meditation.

I treat attention like a vital finite resource and choose carefully where I spend it. I wouldn’t put attention on things that go against the qualities of the chakras, that way purified attention nourishes the chakras and helps to get into thoughtless state faster.”

– Hitesh

“In these modern times this confusion is the worst because all the time your attention is outside.
Such an attention then is absolutely like a horse which is let loose. You cannot control such an attention.” -Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
