Know Thyself – A Journey of Self-Discovery Through Meditation
Have you ever had the dread of having to search for a new job? Getting stressed over interviews with people who will scrutinize every bit of your professional self, moving you through seemingly endless cycles of assessments together with sometimes 200+ competitors, then the anxious waiting for a ‘Yes’ that might never come… no fun!
I was in that situation some 15 years ago where I suddenly had to search for a new job after the company I worked for went bankrupt. But – as I already had practiced Sahaja Yoga Meditation for more than 10 years – I was not much worried. I searched for all the available job offers on the internet and did a simple thing: I checked the vibrations of each.
[A quick note for those who do not know about it, yet: if you get cool vibrations in your hands it is great, if vibrations are warm – not so great. But – it only works after you got your Kundalini Awakening!! (hint hint! Come to one of our classes!)]

So, after finding all the ‘cool’ job offers I started applying for them and guess what… – the one that was the coolest was the one I got. It was in a big company where two years later I was sent to Dubai, stayed in a super luxurious apartment paid by the company and – had one of the best times of my life there!
“Ok, great story….”, you might think, “but… times have changed… I am not sure it will work for me…”. And of course, these times are challenging as never before. But that is exactly the time you really really want to have something so amazing at hand! And the best way to find out is to take the first step and join one of our daily meditation classes (see info below – they are for ever free, no hidden anything, so you have absolutely nothing to lose but tons and tons to win!!!).
So, come and meditate with us! Start this beautiful journey towards yourself with a group of like-minded people! The reason why it is always free is because Shri Mataji insisted that it is our birthright to have!! – for a beautiful, meaningful, joyful life!

Sahaja Yoga is a thing which establishes your reality within yourself, by which you feel secure because your reality is beautiful. It is joy and then you do not want to run away from it. This is what we have to understand, that we are here to receive our reality, to know ourselves. By knowing ourselves, how many things can happen to us? You have no idea.
Shri Mataji, 1980-1124
The whole property that you are, the whole wealth that you are, the whole beauty that you are becomes your own. You become the master of your own being. You become a different person. You become a higher evolved soul. And then you realize that you have suddenly become a being who is collectively conscious.

Did you ever feel that punch in your stomach when you found a beautiful gift for someone, you were all excited about it and then, when the person received it you got the: “Oh, ahem, nice, yes…” and they put it aside too quickly? Did you feel the guilt that you could not find anything better? The nagging feeling at the back of your mind because you would have wished that no matter what, your efforts could have been appreciated a bit more?
More than 15 years back I got one of those painful punches that later on turned into an aha-moment. I found a beautiful glass figurine (expressing a blessing for a new home) for a friend but already, when she unwrapped it, I got this blank polite expression and a couple of months later she gave it back to me because “her husband did not like it”.
I felt as if someone had hit me over the head with a club. I went home, dumbstruck, left the figurine at a fountain on the way and hoped it would find a better place (the next day it was gone).
I pondered over this incident for a long time. Maybe, if she had not been a close friend it would not have hit me so hard. But she was and I rather wished she would have thrown the gift away, or given it to someone else and told me that it broke by accident. I would not have minded that, at least not so much. But I minded that she gave it back.
Giving it back felt like giving back my friendship, my good wishes, my love.
All difficult situations in life have a gift for us. Also here, one day the realization hit me: we do not only express our love by giving something but we also express our love by accepting what was given.
ACCEPTING WHAT IS GIVEN WITH LOVE IS AS MUCH GIVING AS GIVING WITH LOVE ITSELF
In the spiritual practice of Sahaja Yoga, you will experience an even deeper level of this meaning. Everything that exists carries vibrations. They can be felt as a cool soothing breeze in your hands after you have received the awakening of your inner energy (in Sanskrit: the Kundalini but described in all the scriptures; the Holy Ghost; the Tao; the Ruach; etc).
Matter given with love is constantly giving beautiful vibrations to our home and is a constant source of joy for our hearts. Handmade items or food cooked with love hold the strongest vibrations because all the love and the joy of the artist goes into it.
Now, it’s most surprising that the countries which are affluent have more money orientation than the people who are not. It’s very surprising.
Say, for example, in an Indian village, a person may not have so many things as you people have, but if you go to him, he’ll be very happy, whatever he has, he would like to serve you, his food, anything that he has. He would not like to see that you have not taken your food or your milk or something at his residence. He’ll feel so obliged that you go and you serve him with that joy and with that love that he has. He would like to express his love.
Now, people misunderstand. I’ve seen, people who are affluent misunderstand. They think it’s a slavishness. It is not. It is that they find joy in emotional life, in expressing their joy. To them, it does not matter if he has to starve for the day, doesn’t matter. But he has given you food, so he feels that satisfaction: “Oh, God, he has eaten at my place. So sweet of him.”
1983-0303
There’s no slavishness, but is a kind of an expression of that love.

William Blake was a poet, painter, printmaker and visionary in the 18th century. Throughout his life his poems and paintings express a notion of universal humanity, abhorring any form of racism or other -isms.

In the poem “The Little Black Boy” I found these lines especially meaningful:
“And thus I say to little English boy.
When I from black and he from white cloud free,
And round the tent of God like lambs we joy”
Let us all stand up together against any form of racism, let the anger we feel give us strength to building up something new, something better, let us all stand united against the forces which want to divide us and respond to any hate with our united love.
We are all one human family!
With love, Angi
The Little Black Boy by WILLIAM BLAKE
My mother bore me in the southern wild,
And I am black, but O! my soul is white;
White as an angel is the English child:
But I am black as if bereav’d of light.
My mother taught me underneath a tree
And sitting down before the heat of day,
She took me on her lap and kissed me,
And pointing to the east began to say.
Look on the rising sun: there God does live
And gives his light, and gives his heat away.
And flowers and trees and beasts and men receive
Comfort in morning joy in the noonday.
And we are put on earth a little space,
That we may learn to bear the beams of love,
And these black bodies and this sun-burnt face
Is but a cloud, and like a shady grove.
For when our souls have learn’d the heat to bear
The cloud will vanish we shall hear his voice.
Saying: come out from the grove my love & care,
And round my golden tent like lambs rejoice.
Thus did my mother say and kissed me,
And thus I say to little English boy.
When I from black and he from white cloud free,
And round the tent of God like lambs we joy:
Ill shade him from the heat till he can bear,
To lean in joy upon our fathers knee.
And then I’ll stand and stroke his silver hair,
And be like him and he will then love me.

Who can watch events unfolding in our country and remain unaffected? It is heartbreaking to see. We are One human family.
When we meditate, we connect with our Spirit, the pure and eternal essence of ourselves. The power of Spirit is collective, there is no exclusion or differentiation. The kundalini does not distinguish between races, colors, genders, ages – it is a universal force of love.
When the kundalini rises and the mind becomes still, we reach a state of awareness known as collective consciousness. In this state, all boundaries disappear.
Let’s meditate as ONE.

One of the things that you experience with Sahaja Yoga Meditation is that the more you give the more you receive. Now, what does this mean because, after all we do not give any money to purchase our spirituality?
If you have attended any of our meditations, in person or online, if you have felt a cool (or sometimes warm) breeze coming out of your head, then you can already give this gift to others by simply holding your hand over the head of the person until you feel a cool or warm breeze coming out of their head.
Often paintings of Saints and prophets were shown holding the hand over the head of a person. That is because regardless of what spiritual practice we follow we are all still built in the same way – we all have the same red blood, and we all have the same sacred energy in us which has to be awakened to take the next step towards our connection with the Divine where we stop believing and start knowing (you will find the reference in all scriptures, that you have to be born twice, once in the flesh, then in the spirit).
The gift of Shri Mataji to humankind was to make it available for all of us. No need anymore to retreat into a monastery or into the wilderness of the Himalayas. We can have it right here and now, in our own living room to make this very normal day-to-day life more and more spiritual and with it find our deeper meaning.
Daily meditation is the key to have deeper experiences. Sharing it is like putting the 7-miles-boots on – for those who do not know the story – with 1 step you can cover 7 miles.
Therefore you see us all so enthusiastically sharing it with everyone because apart from the joy to enrich other lives with such a tremendous knowledge and experience we also receive so much.
In the Divine realms things do work a little bit differently and that is one of them! Give and you will receive! The more you give away, the richer you will become – spiritually of course, but you will find that also all of your financial and worldly problems will suddenly be taken care of in miraculous ways.
If you do not feel yet so confident (and I get that totally because it took me some time to feel confident enough to share it) then you can share the below video which was recorded on the 5th May in celebration of 50 years of Sahaja Yoga Meditation where throughout the day there were guided meditations to awaken this inner energy. Show one of the 11 meditations in this video to others, then hold your hand over their head and see if you can feel their energy coming through. You will find a lot of joy doing it!
Wishing you deep meditations! Angelika
