For me, reading the words:
“Is a consciousness, means on the central nervous system you feel that consciousness, and that is what is the reality.” feels so profoundly sensible and satisfying. And opens so many doors, not closes them.
Having landed in many dead – ends and unanswered questions – closed doors – with thinking and reading so much, knowing that what we experience is the reality, ended my search at Sahaj Yoga. What I have experienced in Sahaja Yoga this far is an on going naturally unfolding journey in reality that is verifiable and helps me understand and enjoy every area of life.
THE SYSTEM OF THE NATURE🌳
“So Sahaja Yoga is a system which is the system of the nature. It is not a system of human beings, which is artificial, or an organization, or a mass movement, nothing of the kind. It is the system of the nature itself, which has made you a human being, an individual, now, like an egg.
Now this individual has to become, not the mass, which is an animal instinct, but to become collectively conscious – a consciousness, means that on the central nervous system you feel that consciousness, and that is what is the reality.
We go about into anything understanding that this is right, that is right, it is all mental. If you understand everything whatever is mentally available, you are still in the shell but what you feel is the point – then what you feel on your central nervous system is your real consciousness. The rest of it is your mental activities, imagination, or whatever is mental is manmade – it has no meaning.
Like we have written books after books, I don’t know how many energies have been wasted in doing all sorts of things. Books after books are written about this, that, all kinds of yarns and yarns of, I should say, imaginary wanderings about things. But that’s not the thing, you see. It’s within yourself. That what is within yourself, is your own spirit, that resides there in your heart. It is your own power, which you should get. And if you can feel that power then you will be amazed that you don’t have to have any United Nations Organization and all that.
You really enter into the Kingdom of God in the sense that you get that power of love, which makes you extremely loving, sweet, I should say magnetic, extremely gentle, and also could be very powerful if it comes to use of power.”– Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

“Think of it like moving through a helix or upward moving spiral, it’s a circle but every 21 days session later we are at a higher point. So we build upon the previous, we ascend higher, we evolve. That is the circle of life.
It’s like the work of an artist creating one layer and then adding another layer of detail. Kundalini, moving through 7 centers, 3 sides, integrating them and going to Sahasrara and then again rising with greater force till the reflection of Spirit in our being is complete.”

💕Learn to Love yourself 💕
As we embark on our spiritual Sahaja journey and delve deeper within ourselves, there are still moments when we struggle to let go of our reactions to various situations.
We may find ourselves becoming irritated, occasionally losing our temper, or even feeling anger, later regretting our actions. It is completely okay as long as we possess the capacity for introspection.
It is crucial that we observe ourselves and understand the reasons behind these reactions, with a sincere desire to improve and rectify our behavior using vibratory awareness.
Another question we can pose during this introspective process is whether we truly love ourselves. If we genuinely care for ourselves, it becomes inconceivable to harm our inner being through such negative emotions and actions.
Staying authentic to ourselves and maintaining inner purity are fundamental aspects of ascending in our spiritual journey.
Drawing from my personal experience, as I engaged in self-reflection and sought self-improvement, the profound self-love I developed for myself not only benefited my inner well-being immensely but also enabled me to extend that love to those around me.
🌹🌹🌹
“How do we describe love? The meaning of love is that whenever, whatever work you do should be for your welfare and welfare of others.
Welfare should support the Spirit. The Welfare of the Spirit is love and is joy.”
-Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

I have been a spiritual seeker since childhood and at the age of around 20, my seeking was at its peak. I was a student back then in my freshman year at a university.
I remember strolling around campus one evening and ardently praying to the divine that I could not carry on with this seeking anymore. I was tired of looking, trying various techniques, and reading various books to find that precious sublime experience of truth that would quench my longing thirst.
My heart echoed in all its earnestness and intensity “O Lord there must be people out there who are connected to truth, connected to you, for it cannot be that there is only darkness, if there is shadow there must also be light, please connect me to them and through them to you.”
That prayer was the inflection point that changed the direction of my life, for the very next day the answer came. I saw a poster of the Sahaja Yoga meeting on campus and a radiant picture of Shri Mataji. I started going to these classes.
It was not until a year and a half later that I started feeling cool vibrations on my palms and the top of my head. Many people asked me why I continued to practice Sahaja Yoga when I had not experienced any of what was said I would feel for more than a year.
I told them because even though I did not feel any vibrations for a year, I still felt in my heart the peace that the divine was guiding me. I knew where all the other paths that I had traversed before led to, to dead-ends. I knew the synchronicity that was happening in my life was far too many to be a random probability of chance or mere coincidence.
I knew that finding Sahaja Yoga on the university campus and all the prior events that led to it (with prayer being the culminating event) were all divinely orchestrated and not accidental happenings.
It was only clear when I saw all of it in hindsight. I saw that a divine hand had brought me to this point when my seeking had ripened, and it was guiding me so even if I was not feeling the vibrations, I was sensing it at a deeper level. I was assured in the fact that I am being guided by that divine love and therefore I must patiently tread this path.
I also saw the genuineness in Sahaja Yogis and felt the pure motherly love and concern of Shri Mataji which was without any facade. I understood I had gone in the wrong direction in my seeking so first is course correction and only when I return to balance to point zero, that is when I would start to experience things so it can take time.
My ego created doubts, frustrations, and anxiety but I am glad I chose to listen to the voice of wisdom in my heart for I realized that these feelings of frustration, impatience, and anxiety at not seeing the results were also just another layer of mind, a hurdle which needed to be witnessed and transcended. That is what surrender is and why it is so important. That realization opened my heart and opened my Sahasrara and then I never had to look back.
Things are much easier now than it was 20 years ago. All the knowledge is so easily available and now we have online courses running continuously. This is nothing but God’s grace.
If we are able to recognize this and allow the feeling of gratitude sink in our heart and let it expand then for those of you who have not felt the vibrations yet, this might just do the trick 😊.

A beautiful aspect of Sahaja Yoga is that there is no hierarchy. We are all together, pursuing our growth and our depth. We all have more growth to achieve and we can all learn from one another.
A person who is fairly new to Sahaja Yoga can go very deep very quickly if they practice with consistency and devotion. They may quickly become very strong.
Similarly, if we practice half heartedly we may be limited in our growth, despite the passage of many years. So the notion of people being higher or lower is not a factor. We are all growing together, helping each other, benefitting from each other’s strengths and learning from them.
“There’s nobody great in Sahaja Yoga. Everybody is just the same. Just like all fingers are the same, every cell is the same, everybody is the same. So nobody’s higher and lower. There’s no hierarchy in Sahaja Yoga.
Everybody must understand that we are all one, part and parcel of one body, and we don’t have to consider ourself higher or lower.”
– Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, 1990

Something that has helped me tremendously has been the idea that Shri Mataji often expressed that forgiveness is a weapon.
I had always looked at forgiveness as a rather passive thing. If something offended or hurt in some way and I felt another person had wronged me or wronged others, I would try to forgive, but it was almost a way of submitting to the wrong that had been done.
Shri Mataji’s simple explanation that forgiveness neutralizes the negativity, frees us from being tortured by the anger or hurt, and fully allows the Divine to act on the situation was revolutionary for me. I have seen this in action at the personal level and also at a broader level.
Forgiveness and joy can cut through the worst of negative situations and with our kundalini flowing we are empowered to use these weapons!
“He [Lord Jesus Christ] has given us the greatest weapon of forgiveness. When you forgive a person, what do you do? You accept the situation, to begin with, and secondly you forgive what you think has been done wrong to you.
But because nothing can be done wrong to your Spirit, you just forgive, because you are the Spirit.
And when you forgive, you have found that your tension goes away. So, even to your thoughts if you say, “Alright, forgive this thought, forgive this thought,” because thought is not to be punished.
“Forgive this thought, forgive this thought, forgive everything.”
Not forget, forgive: because then you will even forget that you are the Spirit! (laughter) But “forgive all the thoughts that are coming to me.” just go on saying. This is a mantra. What is a mantra? Is that power of the word, that expresses Spirit.”
– Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, 1984

When I started in Sahaj a booklet was given to the class which includes this quote, which was exactly what I needed to know at the time.
It still fills me with wonder, and security. Hope it does for you as well.

“The greatest mistake is to close one’s heart. However hurt one may be, remember that within there is someone who always loves you. She is your individual mother, your Kundalini.
She is connected to the all-pervading power of Divine Love, which never abandons you.
In her love, there are no expectations. There is only a tender glow that takes us to her presence.”

Collecting and accumulating. People have a lot of stuff. Many of us have an attic, a garage, a storage locker — and they contain a lot of stuff.
I realized recently that now I have the desire to accumulate something else, something that cannot be stored in an attic or garage. I am collecting experiences of love; I am accumulating friends who accept my love and reflect it back to me.
Shri Mataji has told us that if we have things, let them be beautiful and meaningful. And especially, let us use them as tokens of our love and acquire things only so we can give them to others
-Mark
“For a guru, he should not accumulate things. If he has possessions, they should be just for giving away.
All kinds of collections that people have… Whatever things are useful, beautiful, which give happiness and joy to others, to their eyes, such things must be collected. Such things which give the symbol to this life.”

“We aren’t philosophers, neither masters of our art but just share a bit of advice which has worked out well for us.
One such thing I have learnt is that it’s very hard to be attentive, so many things craving attention these days. So if your attention is always wavering, it’s hard to grow in meditation.
I treat attention like a vital finite resource and choose carefully where I spend it. I wouldn’t put attention on things that go against the qualities of the chakras, that way purified attention nourishes the chakras and helps to get into thoughtless state faster.”
– Hitesh
“In these modern times this confusion is the worst because all the time your attention is outside.
Such an attention then is absolutely like a horse which is let loose. You cannot control such an attention.” -Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
