You Have Everything Within You

“You have everything within you, that power, like you get lifted up. Like a lotus that rises out of the mire by its own force, you come up and your fragrance fills that mire, and you are amazed at it yourself. First you are identified with that mire, and you think that this is what it is – but it’s not so. When it comes up, that lotus, it spreads its beautiful petals, and the fragrance gives us that personality which spreads all over. And that’s what is going to happen to you. All of you are going to be that lotus which looks hidden, which is absolutely invisible within you, which is going to open out, and the fragrance of your divinity is going to spread.”

“Fragrance is something very innate, even this soil, which we should say has or does not have fragrance; the people have fragrance in their character, in their behaviour, in their understanding and there is peace which they are aspiring.” ~ Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

Death ?! A Myth

One of the main fears in our life is to lose life. I would like to share a post for all those who are dealing with a loss or are facing the last steps. I hope that it brings the same comfort it has brought to me.

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – Lecture on “What are we inside, Birmingham, UK, August 9th, 1980

“You are not to be disappointed my child. The Reality is so beautiful. It is just lying ahead of us. Don’t be worried. Everything is going to be alright…
Death does not exist. There is nothing like death. We are made of five cocoons. One of them is the cocoon of food called as Annamaikosh. That only drops out, and also a little bit of water within us also drops out. The rest of it remains.
Nothing! I wish you could die like that it is just changing of clothes you know. Like when I came from Birmingham I just changed my clothes in the hotel, and came here to be refreshed, to be new.
Just like that as our clothes become dirty we change them, or become old we just change it – that’s all.

Death does not exist. It’s a myth.”

Khalil Gibran
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot
unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide
unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;

Lord Jesus: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi: “You are already in the kingdom of God, but you have to be like children; how innocent they are, how simple they are and they’re happy with small, small things. They don’t want something very extraordinary. It’s very surprising how our love, which is actually, is enlightened by divine love, can change the whole world.”

The Knowledge of The Roots

Posted on November 22, 2018 by Come Meditate

No automatic alt text available.
“We must reach that state of awareness where we become aware of higher seeking within us. First as a human being we seek food, then protection, house, possessions, money, power – and then we find that all these things even if you have achieved you have not been able to achieve what you wanted – that is the state of joy, and thus you start seeking furthermore to find out what should be that state in which you remain in complete joy.

Many people have no idea as to what to expect and also they are quite naive about the structure or the nature of this tree of life which is built within us. So far with our developments we only know the Knowledge of the Tree, but we have to know the Knowledge of the Roots which sustains this tree. If we do not know that Knowledge, it may be one day this great tree that we see which seems to be quite secure, may completely be destroyed.

So it is important for everyone to have that Knowledge of the Roots within ourselves and within our society, within human beings as a whole.”

How To Explain That Which is Beyond Rationality?

Posted on November 21, 2018 by Come Meditate

When people come to our meditation program and ask what Sahaja Yoga is I always get this “biting the lips while trying to explain the unexplainable”.

Shri Mataji said it is too fantastic to be understood by the human awareness.

After more than twenty years of experience I can only agree with that. At the beginning of my spiritual journey I could never imagine what it held in store for me.

Imagine there is this unending, unconditional love which is constantly there, to help you out, to nourish you, to guide you, to protect and balance you, and yes, also sometimes to correct you when you get a little bit over your head.
A love that does not judge nor wants to punish but wants you to grow into your higher Self so that you can enjoy this Creation to the fullest. With the Awakening of our Kundalini we start connecting with this Divine Love.

So often I feel nowadays like a child under the sparkling Christmas Tree being in awe of all that which is laid out for me there. And this Divine Love being there enjoying my joy.

It does take some time and perseverance to come to this point because we have to struggle to get out of the shells of our ego and conditionings to go beyond our usual behavior patterns and reactions. We have to do our daily meditations and clearings religiously like you need to water a growing sapling so that it can prosper. But if we do that then our growth can be fast where we start feeling this Divine love flowing into our lives and changing it from within.

When we come to our first Sahaja Yoga Meditation programs we really have no idea what it is. How grand it is. How breathtakingly beautiful. How deep. And how precious and meaningful each and every life truly is.

As Shri Mataji said:

“Then, after getting Realization, you could not feel what it was. Just if you have dropped into the ocean, and you don’t know what is the dimension of this ocean. How far you have gone into it? What is it? Where are we? What is our purpose?”

goldenlotus1

“There is no rationality left now anymore to even communicate as to what you have been seeking and where have you landed. So the only method you have got now – or only way is left to you – for a drop which has become an ocean, is to dissolve more in the ocean, so that you feel the ocean at least. And to communicate with other drops in such a way that you know the whole through all of them.”

The Water-Drop Stories

Posted on November 15, 2018 by Come Meditate

“As I told you, the drop becomes the ocean; and the drop has to become the ocean by dissolving all its ‘dropness’ with other drops. And all the drops dropping their dropness become the ocean ultimately. “ ∼ Shri Mataji, 08/06/1982

The Water-Drop Stories
by Werner Steindl
(translated from German into English)

The Master (to his disciple):

“It is not only you who is separated from the truth, many are. I will tell you 12 short stories and to you they may sound very simple. But you have to chew on them over and over again”, he said, “many a hundred times, and when you believe you have understood them, then still do not stop chewing on them, so long until you have permeated them, until these simple stories have become sublime and from the sublime have become simple again.”

The first story

Once upon a time there was a water-drop in the ocean who claimed there has never been an ocean.

The same it is with many people; they stand in the midst of God and say there has never been a God.

The second story

“I want my freedom”, demanded the water-drop in the middle of the ocean; and the ocean was merciful and lifted him up to the surface.

“I want my freedom”, demanded the water-drop again – and the sun heard his call and lifted him up onto a cloud.

“I want my freedom”, he demanded again. The cloud let him drop and he was in the ocean again.

The third story

An intellectual water-drop is an intellectual water-drop but not the ocean.

The fourth story

„All the water-drops are worthless”, said the water-drop in the ocean.

The fifth story

„Undoubtedly, one thing I have realized by now: much more significant am I than the ocean”, said the water-drop in the ocean.

The sixth story

„I probably will never meet the ocean“, sighed the water-drop in the ocean.

The seventh story

„Oh what do I care about the ocean“, said the water-drop in the ocean.

The eighth story

One water-drop could not accept his fate because he did not want to know anything about the ocean.

The ninth story

One water-drop in the ocean mustered together other water-drops, to rebel against the ocean.

The tenth story

„By virtue of my office”, said one water-drop to another water-drop in the middle of the ocean, “by virtue of my office from this day on you are expelled from the ocean.”

The eleventh story

„You are in my love“, said the ocean to the water-drop. But the water-drop could not hear the ocean, because he himself was full of love to another water-drop.

The twelfth story

„If I could succeed”, so the water-drop reflected, “that each and every water-drop could be in my love, then I would be the whole ocean.”

And so the water-drop began to take one after the other into his love. But there was a water-drop who once caused him terrible suffering, the worst grieve in his life and for all his love, him he could not forgive. And only because one single water-drop was missing in his love, only this one water-drop, he could not become the ocean.

Disciple:

“Tell me, oh Master, was there ever a water-drop who became the ocean?”

The Master:

“Hear now the last story:

There once was a water-drop who was seeking the silence of the ocean, he was seeking the depth of the ocean. His yearning was strong, and he was full of forgiveness – and suddenly the ocean spoke to him:

„You are I and I am you“, and it opened its arms and welcomed the yearning drop – and what was of the ocean became his. He became the silence of the ocean, he became the wideness of the ocean, and his depth was salvation for the world.

Thus know, full of mercy is the ocean for those who love it and welcomes them in all its abundance, if they truly desire so.”

“But what if such a yearning drop has accumulated all sorts of filth, what then?” asked the disciple.

Here the Master laughed heartily.

“No water-drop can be so dirty, that the ocean cannot cleanse it.”

The Totality that Is Love

Posted on November 9, 2018 by Come Meditate

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
Nov 8, 1980

We have within us a being which I call ‘the Spirit’: the Spirit which is also the part and parcel of the totality that is love, totality that is God, totality that is joy, totality that is knowledge. And that Spirit within us is watching us. It is not watching like a guard or a police inspector.

That also we human beings cannot understand. If I say the Spirit is watching, people get a fright, “Oh God!”
The Spirit is the one that is love. Can you understand total love? Can you understand something that just gives and enjoys giving, and not asking for anything? Can you understand someone like that? Can you?

Loving for love’s sake; that’s what is your Spirit. It is watching you with that love, that total love. That totality of love is watching you to give you that what it is. Now here, I would say, you are the Spirit and you are this self, another one, which is this awareness, this human awareness which you have got. This human awareness has to be enlightened by that totality, that Spirit. When it enlightens that, then only, you know that you are a part and parcel of the totality and that you are beautiful; you are really beautiful. Sometimes one feels a little bashful to know how beautiful one is, and so fragrant, and so grand and so dignified.

That new dimension one has to achieve.

When You Have Got The Highest

Benefits of Sahaja Yoga Meditation

“Physically you feel fit, mentally you feel fit, because your extreme behavior disappears. Mostly we take to habits because we get bored in life or we are fed up or we are very unhappy or we are disturbed about something or we are shocked. But supposing the reverse happens that you feel settled, you feel blissful, you feel happy, you feel cheerful, you feel on top of the world, naturally everything drops of. When you have got the highest you don’t want to indulge into all these things, which are sensational, for the time being, work out for a short period. But you start enjoying that is what is eternal within you, flowing all the time. Stress and all that also disappears. Because supposing – I give an example always of a car which is about to finish its petrol – everybody it is in a stress in the car as well as the driver is worrying that the petrol is going to finish. But supposing by some chance, you are connected to the mains and all the time the energy is flowing into you, then, then you have no worry, you have no worry and just you get over all these things.” ~ Shri Mataji
