The Way to Self-Realisation – the Knowledge of the Spirit
Once you have your Realization you will know what peace is within and then you will know what peace is without.
Then you will know that you are a part and parcel of the whole, that you become part and parcel of the whole. That it is not just a lecture that you are brothers and sisters but you start feeling the other person within yourself. You help the other person through the methods that you learn, how to use this energy, this all-pervading Power which starts flowing through you.
Shri Mataji, 1984-04-10
Once you become part and parcel of this all-pervading power and it starts flowing through you, you have to just learn how to use it. These simple methods you can learn in our free meditation classes. Come Meditate with us!

Sahaja means “born with you”. Saha Ja. Saha means “with”. Ja means “born”. It is born with you that you should get this yoga, the union with the Divine, with this power that is all pervading.
This right to get it is born with every human being and you have to have it and for that it is said that you have to go to a master but master who is a Sat Guru, who is a real master.
Reality doesn’t mean how he dresses up, doesn’t mean what he does in life, it doesn’t mean how he earns his living but real personality is that which makes you meet the Divine Power.
He’s not interested in your purse. He’s not interested in your wife or husband. He’s not interested in all these things.
His interest is only one that you should get your fundamental right established of this union. For that He works.
“How can you pay Him for this?” is a simple question we cannot understand. We think we can pay for everything. This is our ego to think that you can pay for everything.
So many things you have, can you pay for them? Can you pay for love? You cannot. Can you pay for being born in England? You take it for granted. We take for granted so many things that God has given us. How much you have paid to be a human being?
You have paid nothing but it is difficult for human beings now to understand that there is something for which you can never pay.

“Freedom, in its subtlest form, is complete egolessness, no angularities, complete hollowness, just like the flute, so that the melody of God could be played well.”

Have you ever wondered about the story of the Pentecost which we are celebrating this weekend and where the followers of Jesus Christ were filled with the Holy Ghost? Why is the Holy Ghost always described as a “strong wind”, “the wind that comes and goes as it wills”?
“Put your hand on the forehead”, my brother said. “Here we say: I forgive everyone and I forgive myself.”
I had seen a photo of Shri Mataji at his place a few days ago and immediately felt a strong pull in my heart. Something in me was drawn so strongly to this photo that I asked my brother if Shri Mataji was someone like Jesus. I have loved Jesus from childhood on and knew every story about him. My mother always wondered from where I had this because she was not religious at all.
And now we were sitting in the meditation-room of the ashram where he used to go to the weekly programs. It was a silent oasis in the middle of the busy city of Vienna. The air was full of the sweet fragrance of an incense while I followed the guided meditation that would awaken my Kundalini, an inner sacred energy that connects us with the Divine. I had longed for something like this for most of my life and was filled with joy and anticipation.
“Now we put the hand on top of the head. Here we ask: Please give me my self-realization.” I followed diligently. Everything around me was deep peace.
“Now lift your hand over your head and feel the gentle cool breeze over there.”
I felt the coolness. I held the hand away from my head. Nothing. Again over the head: cool. It was faint but it was there. And I knew in that moment that I had found what I had been searching for all my life.
“Now hold out your hands and ask: Is this the cool breeze of the Holy Ghost? Is this Param Chaitanya?”
Coolness like a cool wind flowed into my hands.
On that day a new life began for me. A life with a new awareness that started to manifest in me through my awakened Kundalini. Meditation, introspection, clearing and growing to become a deeper and better person became a part of my journey.
It happened a few years later in one night when I came home late from airport duty. I sat in the living room, not yet tired. It was about four o’clock in the morning. For no reason at all I was filled with an intense joy. I felt such a deep gratitude for having found Sahaja Yoga; for all the miracles I had experienced by then; for all the knowledge and aha-moments of new and profound realizations; for being aware of this deep relationship between me and God that comes with Kundalini Awakening. Suddenly I felt my hands becoming cooler and cooler. Something seemed to melt inside my head and take away all tensions I did not know I had. And then there was water all around me and within me – it was rising from the end of my spine inside and around me, up and up and everything on its way melted into this water. In my head it concentrated below the fontanelle bone and came out from there like a huge spring that went high into the air and fell back over my body.
This was such an unexpected happening that I was sitting there, stunned and taken away. I could not believe that I was feeling water inside of me and all around me! It felt like real, cool water. I touched my skin several times and was astonished every time that it was dry while I felt the wetness of the water flowing over it.
In that moment I knew I could have healed anyone from anything. Whatever problems had been there in me were washed away. If there was any sickness it had not a chance to stay. While it might sound like a frightening experience to some it was the most beautiful experience I ever had. It was of a deep healing, a deep comfort, a deep love, so many things at once that cannot be expressed in words.
This was the water of life, the Divine water by which I received the true baptism which can only be given by the Divine.
Did you know that “Fontanelle Bone” means “little fountain”? Isn’t it amazing that this name has been given? And did you know that the “Sacrum” at the end of the spine is the place of the sacred energy that is know in the Indian scriptures as Kundalini but just another word for the Holy Ghost that resides inside of us? And do you know the story of the Pentecost where the followers of Christ felt the “strong wind upon their heads” when the Holy Ghost came to them? Which is the first thing you start feeling when your Kundalini is awakened…
To have our second birth is our birth right. And everyone who is desiring for it can have it. You do not need to follow a specific religion for it. You do not need to believe in anything. And most importantly – you cannot pay for it! It is free! It is your right to have it! You only need to desire for your own true Self. By knowing your own True and Sacred Self you will start knowing the Divine.

I shared my experience because through it I have learned that many things of which we read about in all the scriptures and regard as “just symbolic” are actually real. The water of life is real. The cool breeze above your head indicating your connection with the Divine is real. The seven lights within us are real. And in the same way like the blood is red in every human being independent of their culture and race, this Divinity within us is the same in all of us, independent of our religion or beliefs or disbeliefs.
There is no requirement to get it other than your own honest desire for it.

Jesus Christ was the greatest example of all history to show us how to forgive. He who had nothing but love and forgiveness, who went all over the places to talk to people about love, to lift them up and to heal them – when he was answered with anger and aggression and was even tortured and crucified, he still had nothing but love and forgiveness.
Nowadays we see anger and aggression on the rise everywhere. Maybe this is a good time to remember Him. To be inspired by this amazing personality. To follow such a bright light of love and compassion. How much can we forgive? How much can we follow this ideal man? At the end, what will happen to us if we forgive? Forgiveness brings deep peace.
Because once you forgive them, you don’t remember what they have done to you, and you never torture yourself. But if you don’t forgive, then you torture yourself thinking, “Why did he do this? Why did she do this?” Nothing – you just forgive. The very great present of Jesus was that you should forgive everyone. That gives you a great peace here.

“Yoga’s are meant for very, very few people. For very few people who live with a guru, in the jungles. You have to do six things simultaneously under the guidance of an evolved soul.
But everybody is trying to do yoga because they want to slim down. God is not to be used for these frivolous things. All right, you do exercises. But this is not yoga.
Yoga means ‘union with God’. It is union with God. It is not union with the worldly things that you think so important.”
Shri Mataji, 1976-0319
Join our meditation classes and experience the true meaning of Yoga!
When you start feeling the deep connection that you have with the Divine the first sign is deep peace.
Then, eventually, you will start feeling cool vibrations (a cool breeze or wind) in your hands and over the head. This is the sign that your own Kundalini is manifesting and flowing through your system, nourishing, cleansing and healing.
With these vibrations you will be able to know for yourself what is good for you and what not. Whoever or whatever emits cool vibrations is in oneness with the whole. Therefore, when we start with Sahaja Yoga Meditation we feel a lot of warmth coming out of the head and hands because we have not lived in harmony with the Divine; not even in harmony with ourselves.
If we make it a daily practice to meditate and use the simple clearing techniques to heal our chakras everything in our life starts to fall into place. We do not need to make an effort to grow from the seed that has been planted through the Kundalini Awakening into a tree rich with fruits. We only have to water this seed by our daily meditation then the rest will happen by itself.
The more we find balance inside the more we start feeling the joy. Not the happiness that can turn into unhappiness at any time but the Joy that has no duality. That just is. For no reason. Pure Joy.

“Gandhi Ji said that all religions are equal, means the tattwa (essence, principle) of all the religions is the same.
You should understand this. The energy which flows inside the tree goes everywhere, it goes into the roots, in the trunk, into the leaves, flowers and then it goes back. It does not get attached to any place.
This type of love which is unconditional, which is detached, is a power. In that power, a principle is working out everywhere, the same way.
One principle is working out in every religion.
And that, to the point, the simple principle is just that, when Dharmà (the righteous way of living) gets manifested within ourselves, when we get nourished by the principle of any dharmà, when we fully establish the tattwa within ourselves, then we can get our evolution.”
Shri Mataji, 1978-0203, Translated from Hindi

“I laugh within myself when someone objects that Rama or the chanting of Ramanama is for the Hindus only, how can Muslims therefore take part in it?
Is there one God for the Muslims and another for the Hindus, Paris or Christians?
No, there is only one omnipotent and omnipresent God. He is named variously and we remember Him by the name which is most familiar to us.
My Rama, the Rama of our prayers is not the historical Rama, the son Dasharatha, the King of Ayodhya. He is the eternal, the unborn, the one without a second. Him alone I worship. His aid alone I see, and so should you. He belongs equally to all.
I, therefore, see no reason why a Muslim or anybody should object to taking His name. But he is in no way bound to recognize God as Ramanama. He may utter to himself Allah or Khuda so as not to mar the harmony of the sound.”
(Mahatma Gandhi*, 28-4-1946, p111)

“But at this point, man’s foolishness also comes into play in that he saves his time to waste it elsewhere. If he thinks even for an instant, “This time that I am saving, where have I to use it?” he comes into balance.
To obtain that torrential rain of God falling on the people of this Kali Yuga (Dark Age), only a little balance is required.”
Shri Mataji, 1975-1222

“I sometimes feel like that. Is man’s search for truth or untruth? Why is a man in love with untruth? However, if you look at it, no one likes the untruth. If I tell a lie to you, will you like Me?
But if a man tries to search at the micro-level, he pays great attention to the matter and dead things and he is sad, he is a sad person, the whole world is sad. What can we do to these fools?
They are sad for no reason. It is like this; your lamp is embellished, decorated. You also light a beautiful lamp with a wick. You decorate the rest also. You light the lamp, still you are unhappy, you are in darkness.”

“Why do you go to the forest in search of God?
Guru Nanak
He lives in all and is yet ever distinct;
He abides with you, too,
as a fragrance dwells in a flower,
and reflection in a mirror;
so does God dwell inside everything;
seek Him, therefore, in your heart.”
